Budgeting for Freshman/ College Students! 

Given example experience: 

So our parents given us: $2,780 for the school year (9 months) 

Hopefully we will be able to use this money enough and save our budget as possible! 

We are living in campus which includes Wi-Fi internet (heat, water, gas, electricity are included). 

We got a 15 meal/ week plan and a one round trip ticket to/from hom provided from our parents. 

Oh! And a new laptop. 

We will also be working 10 hours/ week at the campus with a minimum wage of $9.50. 

Income
2780 - textbook fees:1000 = $1780

Parents give us = 1780/9 = $197 per month

Wage: 95 per week = $380 per month

Total = $577 / per month


9 month total = $5193


Spendings: 

Transportation: $ 50 per month

Entertainment:

Movies: $20 per month
Eating out: $50 per month
Going out with friends: $60 per month
Personal products: $50 per month
Clothing: $ 100  

Household:

Groceries: $50 per month
Household goods: $50 per month

Personal:

Cell Phone Monthly Plan (AT&T): $30
Medical insurance: $80 per month

Vacation: $100 for only a month


Result: 

9 month total = 4960

Leftover money = 5193 - 4960 = 233
